The Hi-Sifter (powder sifting machines) is the latest breakthrough in advanced powder screening technology and is offered exclusively by Elcan Industries. Unlike conventional, vribatory and ultrasonic sieving machines, the Hi-Sifter employs a vertical energy directly into the screen surface allowing for fine separations to be made down to 10um. This energy prevents the screen mesh from blinding while eliminating the need for any and deblending devices including balls, sliders, and ultrasonics.
The system employs a patented “tensionless” screen cloth that allows for longer mesh life and eliminates the need for shipping meshes back and forth for rescreening. The high volume of energy applied to the screen surface allows for a wide array of powders to be efficiently sieved and often times is able to replace costly air classifiers. These sieving machines have been employed in a multitude of industries including; pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and battery materials. While the systems excel in separating “difficult to screen” products as well as finer materials, there has been a number of commercial successes for companies replacing their conventional sieves at coarser sizes as well at a rate of sometimes as high as four to one. The removal of any potential for contamination within the machine, explosion proof designs and high energy make the machine the precise fit for companies looking to add or update screening machinery to their manufacturing plants. The Hi-sifter powder screening machines are offered in single, double, and triple deck configurations. The simple design of the machine allows for quick screen mesh cloth changing and minimal down time between runs.
Elcan Industries is currently the only company in the United States that offers testing on the Hi-Sifter at their state-of-the-art contract manufacturing facility in Tuckahoe, New York. Elcan encourages customers to come in and test and develop new products in Elcan’s advanced laboratory. Additionally, Elcan has several large scale production bays for toll processing available to customers looking to screen product under the supervision of the experts. Elcan has recently added Jet Milling, Blending, Tumbler Screeners and Air Classifying to complement their proprietary line of advanced sifting machines as well.
