Titanium dioxide powder is a naturally occurring oxide powder that is the most commonly used powder in the pigments and effects industries due to its white color. Like most other powders used in the industry, it is usually coated and then used for paint fillers and pigments. Sieving titanium dioxide is a difficult process that is made even harder by the shape of the material. Screening Titanium Dioxide needs to be done carefully as the platelet like shape of the particles can plate over the screen. This will kill all the airflow inside the machine and immediately result in poor sieving. The platelet like shape and lack of flowability of the powder need to be considered when screening titanium dioxide.
