Magnetite also known as Black Iron Oxide (Fe304), is a naturally occurring Iron Oxide mineral that is known for its unique magnetic properties and black color. It contains a high amount of iron in it which makes it common in iron ore production as well as more specific uses like the magnetic inks and toners industry due to its high magnetic properties. Sieving Magnetite is a very difficult task when using conventional or ultrasonic sieves, due to the density of the material and poor flow characteristics. The material must stay elevated inside of the screener in order to prevent buildup on the screen surface or blinding and tearing of meshes will occur.
