What is Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2)? Molybdenum Disulfide is a solid lubricant powder known for its thermal stability and friction-reducing properties. Similar to graphite, it has a layered structure allowing it to operate as a dry lubricant under extreme conditions. Sieving molybdenum disulfide has become a critical process as the material has become more prevalent in industries like aerospace, electronics, and battery materials. Sieving and Air classifying of molybdenum disulfide can be a tricky process using conventional sieving machines or ultrasonic sieves due to their fine nature of the material and its tendency to agglomerate. Traditional screeners are unable to make the necessary fine separations and struggle to break up the clumps in the material leading to blinding and poor inefficiencies.
