What is Hematite powder? Hematite powder, most commonly Red Iron Oxide (Fe2O3) is a naturally occurring mineral powder that are commonly used in the pigments, cosmetics, and concrete/construction industries. Hematite has a distinct red color to it that makes it an ideal choice for colorant, is available naturally, has hardness and durability to it and has distinct magnetic properties. Sieving Hematite can be a challenge for companies using a conventional sieve due to the fact that it is very dense, has a high amount of iron in it, and sometimes does not flow well. When sieving Hematite, it is critical to control particle size by not overwhelming the screen. It is also important that equipment being used is well sealed to prevent leakage of the powder.
