Precise particle size control ensures consistent flowability, melting point behavior, and optimal performance during application or molding. In powder bed fusion and binder jetting 3D printing, resin powders must be screened to sub-100 micron sizes for reliable layer formation. For coatings or adhesives, oversized particles or agglomerates can cause clumping, poor surface finish, or inconsistent curing. Standard screening methods often fail due to static buildup, material softness, and mesh blinding, making advanced sieving necessary for consistent product quality.

Elcan Industries has years of experience working with both rigid and soft resin powders that present challenges during processing. Using our Hi-Sifter high-energy screening system, we deliver strong vertical energy to the mesh, breaking apart agglomerates while avoiding screen mesh blinding. This allows us to sieve resin powders down to 25 microns consistently—ideal for applications requiring fine granularity. For ultra-fine or sticky resins that are tough to handle, our Allgaier tumbler screener uses a continuous air knife system to clean the mesh and maintain efficient throughput down to 53 microns. Our toll processing facility supports full-scale production or small-batch trials, allowing resin producers to validate material flow and quality under real-world conditions.
